We’re ending this productive week on a high note by attending two major events in two continents today, the 3rd of October. Catch Convene at the Institute of Directors’ (IoD) Annual Convention in London, England and the Governance Centre of Excellence’s Conference for Corporate Secretaries in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. If you happen to be anywhere in either city, we’d love to see you drop by our booths.

The IoD Annual Convention, one of the biggest events in the British business calendar, is now on its 64th year of bringing together the biggest leaders, speakers, and movers and shakers from different sectors at no less than the iconic Royal Albert Hall. With more than 2,000 directors and entrepreneurs expected to attend, the convention will serve as a platform for networking and as a melting pot of ideas.

The theme of the 2014 convention is game changers. These are people who know when to push the envelope in order to innovate and disrupt. They are unafraid of change; rather, they embrace it because they understand that change is needed for businesses to thrive. Given this year’s theme, we believe Convene fits in just right. Our digital solution is ideal for game changers who wish to go beyond paper-based, face-to-face meetings and move on to the next evolution, which are remote, paperless and virtual meetings. Directors and entrepreneurs interested to know more about transitioning to digital meetings are invited to visit our booth and ask our representative, Mr Alasdair Mangham, for a quick demo.

Happening also on the same day but on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean is the GCE Conference for Corporate Secretaries to be held at the Radisson Admiral Hotel Toronto-Harbourfront. The focus of this event, now on its 4th annual run, is on corporate secretaries and the influence they wield within the health care industry. The support they provide to boards and senior management put them in an influential and vital role, so it’s important that they also get the help they need to fulfill their important responsibilities. In line with this objective, Convene is in a good position to be represented as a necessary digital tool for corporate secretaries. Good e-governance for remote and paperless board meetings is a growing concern in this digital age, but we believe Convene can address those effectively with its streamlined and automated processes. Corporate secretaries who are curious to learn more about how Convene supports good e-governance are invited to stop by our booth and look for our representative, Ms. Peggy Sam.

Stay tuned to all our future blog announcements and social media updates to keep track of where you can catch Convene next.
