Convene Raised the Bar in Governance at 2025 Bar Leadership Events

NABE 2025 Annual Meeting
August 05, 2025
Fairmont Royal York, Toronto, Ontario Canada

From August 5–7, Convene joined bar leaders at the National Association of Bar Executives the 2025 NABE Annual Meeting, held at the Fairmont Royal York in Toronto. This year’s theme, “Elevate & Celebrate,” was a fitting backdrop for three days of learning, collaboration, and recognition within the bar professional community. Representing Convene were Lovely Peligrino (Global Marketing Manager) and Taz Malik (VP of Sales), who had the opportunity to connect with attendees, partners, and even our current clients to explore how governance technology can better support today’s legal organizations.

Building on a Year of Bar Leadership Engagement

Earlier this year, Convene participated in the NABE 2025 Chief Executives Retreat in Chicago, where we connected with bar executives on issues ranging from leadership transitions to crisis communication. The Annual Meeting in Toronto continued these conversations, reinforcing our commitment to supporting #BarProfessionals with secure, efficient, and adaptable board governance tools.

NABE 2025 Annual Meeting Crowd

The agenda in Toronto featured timely and thought-provoking sessions, from tough calls on ethics to fresh perspectives on mental health, workplace culture, and engagement. Throughout these conversations, one theme stood out: bar executives are balancing the weight of tradition with the urgency of digital transformation.

Many face growing demands to make faster, more informed decisions while managing tight budgets and limited staff. It was clear that innovative yet cost-efficient solutions — those that streamline board operations without compromising security or usability — are no longer optional; they are essential.

The reality is that for many bar associations, old processes like long email threads, static PDFs, and manual prep still slow things down. Leaders also voiced out that they’re looking for platforms that not only safeguard sensitive information but are also easy to implement, adapt seamlessly to their governance needs, and deliver maximum value without stretching resources.

That’s where Convene’s board management software comes in—providing secure, centralized access to agendas and documents, encrypted communications and e-signatures, mobile tools for remote and hybrid meetings, and audit-ready workflows to ensure compliance and transparency. These capabilities help bar professionals shift their focus from administrative hurdles to the strategic leadership that drives their organizations forward.

Our Takeaway from NABE 2025 Annual Meeting

The NABE 2025 Annual Meeting reaffirmed what we’ve always believed: when #BarProfessionals have the right tools, they can lead with clarity, confidence, and compliance.

As Lovely Peligrino, Global Marketing Manager, shared, “At NABE, it became clear that bar executives aren’t just looking for software—they’re looking for smarter, cost-efficient ways to lead. Convene is proud to be part of that conversation.”

We’re excited to continue supporting bar leaders with the tools they need to lead with clarity, security, and impact.

For those who couldn’t join us in Toronto, we’d love to connect.
