Convene and GovernWith Joint ESG Initiative Fuels Progress in Australian Corporate Governance Landscape

ESG: What on Earth is it? Panel Discussion

Convene, a corporate governance solutions provider, is excited to unveil its latest joint initiative with GovernWith, Australia’s top authority on best practices in board governance. The two will again collaborate to present the ESG Panel Discussion event titled ESG: What on Earth is it?, aiming to highlight the significance of integrating effective governance into sustainable business strategies.

Their partnership began in 2023 when Convene and GovernWith introduced the Ultimate Governance Package at the International Governance Leadership Conference. Since then, they have remained committed to advancing the principles of good corporate governance across Australia. Through a series of events and discussions, they plan to keep Australian boards informed about the latest trends and best practices in governance, utilizing their combined products and services to facilitate successful engagements.

Set for March 18, 2024, at Valhalla Brewery, North Geelong, their latest collaborative event aspires to shed light on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) considerations and discuss strategies for their effective implementation.

Participants can gain insights into what ESG actually means for them, understand the importance of compliance with ESG standards, and discover practical methods to incorporate ESG principles into their decision-making processes. The panel discussions will be divided into two sessions: the Health Sector from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm and the Education Sector from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm.

Convene will also showcase Convene ESG, its innovative solution designed to streamline the ESG reporting process and enhance corporate transparency. This solution ensures that organisations meet global standards like IFRS S1 & S2. These standards, which necessitate disclosing climate-related data and decarbonisation plans, will become mandatory for Australian companies in July 2024.

Michael Yap, CEO of Azeus Convene, shares his excitement about the upcoming venture, “We are thrilled to continue our partnership with GovernWith. Through this initiative, we’re given another valuable opportunity to combine our expertise and resources to elevate the standards of corporate governance in Australia.” He added, “Convene ESG represents our commitment to driving this positive change.”

Convene will be at the forefront to promote Convene ESG and highlight its importance in simplifying the ESG journey for organisations in the healthcare, education, and other regulated sectors. This effort aligns with Convene’s mission to support organisations in embracing responsible business practices and achieving sustainability goals through innovative solutions.
