We designed Convene to streamline board meeting processes and support good e-governance for any organisation, regardless of industry or region. Thus, we make it our mission to bring our board portal to where it can be used to improve operations, such as the banking industry in the United States.

According to the 2015 Banking Outlook by the Deloitte Center for Financial Services, strengthening both risk compliance and risk management is one of the biggest challenges facing American banks this year. We believe Convene can play a big role in managing risks at the boardroom level for financial institutions.

To show our commitment to our mission, we have joined as a member of the US banking associations listed below. Check this page often to see new additions.

American Bankers Association

ABA serves as the united voice of America’s hometown bankers — small, regional and large banks that together employ more than 2 million people, hold more than $15 trillion in assets, safeguard $11 trillion in deposits and extend more than $8 trillion in loans.

Community Bankers Association of Illinois

CBAI represents approximately 400 Illinois financial institutions and 150 associate members. The Association creates money-saving opportunities for its members and provides first-class educational seminars and schools. Moreover, CBAI professionally lobbies for the Illinois community banker.

Community Bankers Association of Ohio

CBAO is organized to establish and maintain an informed network of independent community banks in the state of Ohio that will have the influence and commitment to effectively serve, protect and promote the interests of its members.

Florida Bankers Association

FBA serves as the primary resource through which Florida financial service providers work in unity to influence the state and federal legal regulatory environment in which they serve their customers. FBA also helps maximize the ability of members to compete effectively and profitably while being a positive influence on the economic well being of all Floridians.

Idaho Bankers Association

IBA is Idaho’s only full-service trade association representing commercial banks of all sizes and charters that operate in the state. The mission of the IBA is to meet the changing and growing needs of Idaho banks through governmental affairs advocacy, information dissemination, education, and promoting the interests of the banking industry in all forums

Independent Community Banks of North Dakota

ICBND is the only statewide association exclusively representing the independent community banks of North Dakota. We enable our independent member banks to provide competitive, profitable, high-quality financial services to their communities.

Michigan Bankers Association

MBA advances a positive environment for Michigan banking and fosters safe, profitable and successful banks that promote strong communities and a vibrant Michigan economy.

Montana Independent Bankers

MIB has served Montana’s community banks for over 45 years. MIB provides these banks with the multilevel support they need to function at their optimum. After all, healthy banks mean prosperous communities.

We’re planning to attend the conferences of these associations to further understand the challenges faced by banks in the present economic climate. Ultimately, we hope to use the knowledge in improving Convene to better suit their needs.

So far, we already attended our first ever conference in the United States, the Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA) Live at the Gaylord Convention Center in Florida. Being part of that conference was a wonderful experience, mainly because the community of independent bankers we met were so welcoming to us newcomers. With such a great start, we’re looking forward to our next conferences in the coming weeks. You’ll read all about them here on our blog and social media sites, so stay tuned!
