For our first two entries in the #ConveneConquers series, we shared our experiences in Europe and North America. In this article, we’ll talk about the events we attended in the Asia-Pacific.

To kick start our activities in the Asia-Pacific region, we flew into Malaysia to take part of MAICSA’s Annual Conference last July. Held in Connexion Conference & Event Centre, it is an excellent platform for company secretaries, directors and corporate officers to keep abreast with the latest regulatory updates and developments in governance in Malaysia. It was attended by over 600 delegates from different industries and sectors.

A few weeks later, we participated in SSM’s National Conference. With the theme Future-Proofing Business in the Digital Age, it was graced by 1,000 delegates from various organizations. In here, Convene had the opportunity to interact with decision-makers and to promote digital meetings for a more secure and superior governance.

Our next stop for this region was the land down under. In August, we went to the Australian Institute of Company Directors’ Public Sector Governance Forum. In partnership with the Institute of Public Administration Australia, it examined the local sector’s pressing issues in governance such as best practices for accountability, tips on collaboration, and ways to achieve better outcomes. As a trusted board meeting software, Convene was able to connect with over 120 government representatives and to shed some light on how to achieve efficient governance.

Finally, we capped off our adventure in the Asia-Pacific with the Governance Institute of Australia’s National Conference which covered the latest insights on corporate governance and risk management. It revolved around the theme of Respect, Trust, and Challenge with the emphasis of putting “people and human-centric design” at the core of governance. Here, we reached out to more than 500 delegates from the private sector and shared how we can help them achieve overall better governance easily and securely.

Wondering where our final destination for this year would be? Just wait for our last entry in the #ConveneConquers series.
