Hong Kong, November 2012— Convene, the enterprise-grade app for paperless mobile meetings and document collaboration on iPad, Android, and Windows, will be offered to UK public sector bodies as a cloud service through the Government CloudStore, according to Convene developer, Azeus Systems Ltd.
Azeus was awarded a G-Cloud ii Framework Agreement by the Government Procurement Service of the UK, allowing Convene to be delivered under a Software as a Service (SaaS) model to public sector bodies. Under this model, public authorities can immediately start using Convene through a pay-per-use scheme, eliminating the need to spend on costly IT infrastructure in order to host collaborative platforms such as Convene.
Azeus Managing Director, Mr Wan Lik Lee, is optimistic of Convene’s potential in the UK public sector: “With the G-Cloud programme as a platform, it will be easier for public sector bodies to use Convene to achieve paperless management meetings, conduct tablet-based presentations in the classroom, and collaborate on ideas through their iPad, iPhone, Android or Windows devices.”
Mr Lee also lauded the UK G-Cloud programme as a model to replicate because, “the programme combines advanced technology in the form of cloud services with an innovative delivery model to enhance government services, which in the end will benefit public users.”
The G-Cloud programme offers the UK public sector a range of cloud services and products under Compute-as-a-Service, Storage-as-a-Service and Software-as-a-Service, at competitive prices from the Government CloudStore, launched early this year.
